We didn’t invent the System Team when we headed down the agile enterprise framework path. Rather we simply noticed that each new agile program typically created one, and chartered them with helping learn how to do more effective CI, automated builds, and end-to-end testing in a newly, and highly incremental, fashion.
But as I write this, I can’t think of a single release train that we are aware of that doesn’t have one, and they are indeed a critical success factor in developing and deploying Agile Release Train solutions. Hopefully, we’ve captured the essential responsibilities of this team on this page. (Thanks Alex!).
